What is Volta?

Volta is a multiview video platform that transforms how people experience livestreams and on-demand content. Whether you're watching a concert, game, or online class, Volta lets you see multiple camera angles at once and choose how and when to watch. You can watch up to nine simultaneous camera angles, switch to solo views or various mosaic layouts in real time, and immerse yourself in dynamic storytelling.

How do I use Volta on mobile?

  • Go to www.volta.live

  • Tap the access button. Enter your email.

  • Check Email from Volta for Code

    • Enter OTP code to 'Get Access' to the event and 'Join the Crowd'

  • Choose Your View

    • Press play icon.

    • Watch the Director's Cut n portrait and chat - or -Rotate mobile device to landscape to experience multiple camera views.

    • Watch the mosaic layout or tap on any camera to view in full screen.

    • Swipe left/right to cycle through camera angles.

    • Tap the Return to Multiview icon to re-enter mosaic layout mode.

    • Tap the Multiview icon to cycle through additional mosaic layouts.

  • Engage with Chat in Portrait

    • Chat with other viewers, or drop a reaction

How do I use Volta on my computer (laptop or desktop)?

  • Open the Web App?

  • Click the get access button.

  • Check Email For Code

    • Enter code to view event(s).

  • Choose Your View

    • Click the play icon.

    • Watch in mosaic or click on any camera to view it in full screen.

    • Hover over a stream to see camera labels.

    • Click arrows on left/right to cycle through camera angles.

    • Click the Return to Multiview icon to re-enter mosaic mode.

    • Click the Multiview icon to choose additional mosaic layouts.

  • Interact

    • Use the side panel for live chat, or fan reactions (if enabled).

Do I need a special device or app to use Volta?

  • No. For now, Volta is browser-based and mobile-optimized. No downloads necessary. Just click, watch, and switch views. However, to get the most from your mobile screen when using Volta, we recommend following the steps below to access the web based mobile optimization called a Progressive Web Application (PWA).

How to install Volta’s PWA app on my phone?

  • To enjoy an even better Volta experience on your phone, simply install Volta as a PWA (Progressive Web App). By adding Volta’s PWA to your phone, Volta’s web experience will act more like a native app, giving you even better quality and performance.

  • For iOS devices:

    • Open www.volta.live in the SAFARI browser on your phone.

      • Then tap on the SHARE button, then tap "Add to Home Screen" and then tap “Add”.

      • This will install the Volta app icon on your phone’s Home Screen, which you can tap to open up Volta’s PWA app.

  • For Android devices:

    • Open www.volta.live for Volta in the CHROME Browser on your phone

      • Tap the three-dots menu option in the top right of the browser.

      • Then tap "Add to Home Screen" .

        • The tap "Install" on the Install App popup.

      • Then go into your App Drawer menu open the Volta App.

What devices and browsers are supported for Volta streams?

Volta currently supports most flagship and recent-generation Apple and Android mobile devices, and most modern desktop and laptop computers. Please contact us if you have any issues.

What kind of bandwidth requirements/recommendations does Volta have for optimum player performance?

Volta requires a connection speed of at least 4.16 Mbps. Connections speeds of 25 Mbps and higher will enjoy the best Volta experience.

What Internet Speed Do You Need for a Great Streaming Experience on Volta?

To ensure you get the best viewing quality on Volta, here's a quick guide to the recommended internet speeds:

  • For High-End Laptops (e.g., MacBook Pro M-series):

  • Enjoy crystal-clear visuals and smooth playback on your powerful laptop.

    • For the absolute best quality (1080p High Quality): You'll need an internet speed of 22 to 26 Megabits per second (Mbps).

    • For great quality (1080p Standard Quality): We recommend 14 to 17 Mbps.

    • For clear HD (720p High Quality): Aim for 10 to 13 Mbps.

    • For good HD (720p Standard Quality): You'll want 7 to 11 Mbps.

  • For Mobile Devices (e.g., iPhone):

  • Stream on the go with these recommended speeds for your phone or tablet.

    • For excellent quality (1080p Standard Quality): We recommend 14 to 17 Mbps.

    • For clear HD (720p High Quality): Aim for 10 to 13 Mbps.

    • For good HD (720p Standard Quality): You'll want 7 to 11 Mbps.

    • For standard definition (540p Standard Quality): A speed of 5 to 8 Mbps should work well.

  • Why does this matter?

  • These speeds help ensure your video plays smoothly without buffering, allowing you to enjoy your content uninterrupted! If your internet speed is lower than these recommendations, you might experience pauses or the video quality may automatically adjust to a lower resolution.

What should I do if the video or audio stops or buffers?

If your stream is interrupted, whether the video freezes, the audio drops out, or playback stalls try this quick fix:
Simply 'Refresh' your screen or browser.
In most cases, the stream will automatically pick back up where it left off.

  • Make sure you have a stable internet connection.

  • If you're on Wi-Fi, try moving closer to your router or switching to a wired connection if possible.

  • Close any unnecessary apps or browser tabs that might be using bandwidth.

Why do I need to turn off my ad blocker to use this service?

    • Click on your ad blocker's icon in your browser toolbar.

    • Select Pause on this site or Allow ads on this site.

    • Refresh the page.

  • Once your ad blocker is turned off, you'll have full access to the interactive features and multiview experience.

  • Will I see a lot of ads if I disable it?

  • No. We limit advertising to ensure your experience stays focused on the content. Disabling your ad blocker allows us to deliver the stream as intended, not overwhelm you with ads.
